1. JUST IN CASE CONTESTS LIKE THIS ARE NOT ALLOWED BY THE NCAA, ESPN, OR THE STATE OF IDAHO:

a. If Boundary County Live learns at any time that this contest and/or the awarding of a prize in this contest is not permitted by the NCAA, ESPN, the State of Idaho, or any other entity with authority over the contest, then all eligibility for prizes will be withdrawn, no prize will be awarded, but the contest will continue, and the winner will have as their only reward the right to bask in the glory of being first place in this Group.

 

2. ELIGIBILITY:

a. Employees and families of Boundary County Live, NewsBF, their agencies and employees and subcontractors and their families are ineligible to participate in or win the contest. This includes any person who has assisted with a Boundary County Live broadcast within the past year.  Boundary County Live reserves the right to disqualify any contestant who is financed, aided, encouraged or prompted by an employee or family member of subcontractor of Boundary County Live or NewsBF.

 

b. Boundary County Live reserves the right to disqualify any contestant if it is deemed the contest rules were not followed.

 

c. Boundary County Live reserves the right to enforce the following: No contest winners or their family members shall be allowed to win more than one contest sponsored by Boundary County Live within a thirty-day period. Any person (or family member) who has won any contest sponsored by Boundary County Live is again eligible to win a contest only after thirty (30) days have passed since their previous win.

 

d. This contest is void when and where prohibited by law.

 

e. Winner of the contest must be 18 years of age, and possess a valid form of government-issued identification.

 

3. PRIZES:

a. All prizes awarded through any Boundary County Live contest are non-transferable at the time they are awarded. A prize may not be substituted at the request of a contest winner, nor may a prize be substituted for cash. The prize indicated by Boundary County Live to be won in a contest is the only prize awarded and given only to the person who is designated as the winner. Boundary County Live reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event specified prize offered is unavailable.

 

b. All prizes awarded by Boundary County Live must be claimed within thirty (30) days of the date the prize is won. No substitutions will be made for violation of this thirty-day rule. If a winner does not claim his/her prize within the thirty-day period, the prize is forfeited and eligibility restrictions mentioned in these rules still apply to that winner for future contests.

 

c. Boundary County Live will have no liability or responsibility for or related to the prizes and there are no warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, applicable to the Contest or the prizes. By entering this Contest or by claiming a prize, all participants agree, to the greatest extent allowed by law, to release the Sponsors from any and all liability arising from any injury, death, loss or damage of any kind resulting from or in connection with any entry and/or participation in this Contest, or the award, acceptance, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize. The winners will be required to execute an affidavit (release form) which releases Boundary County Live from liability for any loss or damage or claim of property related to the winners’ participation in the contest and/or usage of the prize.

 

d. Winners may be required to provide his/her signature, full legal name, address, city of residence, state of residence, zip code, telephone number. and social security number if such is required for tax purposes, on the release form.  We do not anticipate this will be needed for the NCAA Tournament Contest.

 

4. RELEASE:

a. Boundary County Live and/or any participating sponsor in a contest may require a release form to be completed by the winner and any other person or persons involved in accepting a prize. Upon accepting any contest prize from Boundary County Live or participating sponsor in a contest, winner releases Boundary County Live and any and all sponsors of any liability or further claims. Boundary County Live  cannot be held liable or responsible for any telephone failures, failures of the internet, failures of websites maintained by outside third parties, malfunctions or irregularities during a contest nor can Boundary County Live be held liable or responsible for any discrepancies by the U.S. Postal Service or any delivery service or courier involved in delivering prizes, entries or contest information to or from Boundary County Live, nor is Boundary County Live to be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.

 

b. The decision of the judges is final.

 

c. All winners are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on prizes received.

 

d. All entrants agree to grant Boundary County Live permission to publicly disclose the name of the contest winner in any given contest.

 

5. IDENTIFICATION:

a. In order for a winner to claim a prize Boundary County Live requires picture identification. Boundary County Live may require any government-issued identification for the purpose of correctly identifying the contest winner. Boundary County Live reserves the right to examine any identification for verification, and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.

 

b. Boundary County Live requires a contestant to truthfully respond with all pertinent information it deems necessary for our records which at times for some contests, for lawful tax purposes, may include but is not restricted to legal name, address, telephone number, birthdate and social security number (if we determine it is needed for tax purposes—Note:  we do not expect this information will be needed for the NCAA Tournament Contest).

 

c. Boundary County Live may disqualify a contestant immediately upon learning the contestant has responded with false information.

 

6. CHANGES:

a. Boundary County Live reserves the right to extend the contest if it so desires. Boundary County Live reserves the right to make necessary changes to the contest rules and procedures.

 

b. Rules of this contest may be adjusted at any time, even after the contest begins, as necessary to conform to rules of the NCAA, ESPN, or laws of the State of Idaho. Changes, adjustments, additions, or deletions to the rules of this contest to comply with rules of the NCAA, ESPN, or the laws of the State of Idaho may not be contested, and no person who enters the contest shall have recourse if those changes in any way affect an entrant's eligibility for a prize.

 

c. In the event of any dispute pertaining to this contest, the decision of Boundary County Live management is final.

 

7. OTHER:

a. Specific contests may have additional stipulations not listed here. Refer to documents pertaining to those contests for specific rules. Decision of the judges is final.

 

b. Odds of winning are dependent on number of entries and on correctly determining winners of basketball games in the NCAA Men's Tournament.

 

c. No purchase necessary.

 

d. Boundary County Live will not be responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, incomplete, misdirected, late, delayed or garbled entries, or as a result of any human error, equipment or programming associated with, or utilized, in this contest or the processing of any entries, or for any telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind.

 

e. All blank, corrupted, or otherwise incomplete entries are automatically null and void.

 

f. Boundary County Live will give away 1 (one) grand prize in the Men’s Tournament of a check for $50.    Boundary County Live will give away 1 (one) grand prize in the Women’s Tournament of a check for $50.  No substitutions will be offered.

 

g. You must be 18 or older to enter.

 

h. Those wishing to enter this contest who are eligible to enter can do so by going to ESPN.com and filling out a NCAA men's college basketball tournament bracket online under the group name “Boundary County MMadness” for the Men’s Tournament, or under the name “Boundary County WMadness” for the Women’s Tournament.  Each registrant can fill out a maximum of 2 (two) brackets for entry to either the Men’s or the Women’s contest, or both, for this contest.

 

i. In order for Boundary County Live to be able to identify the winner(s) of the contest, all contestants must also send to e-mail address bracket-contest@newsbf.com the following information:

• The name they have given their bracket or brackets as they are listed in the ESPN.com online bracket information, and which Tournament contest they are entering, Men's or Women's

• Their ESPN screen name

• The contestant’s actual real name

• A telephone number or e-mail address where the contestant may be contacted for notification, should they win one of the contests.

This information is necessary so we can put a name to the anonymous bracket information on ESPN.com and thus determine the winners of our contests, contact the winners of the contests, and award the prizes.

 

j. The bracket that finishes in first place in the group sponsored by Boundary County Live, Men’s or Women’s, as determined by the ESPN.com bracket scoring system, is the winner of the grand prize for that Men’s or Women’s group.  Boundary County Live staff may enter brackets in the contest, but cannot win the grand prize or any prize, and if a staff member finishes in first place, the prize will be awarded to the first non-staff member with the best final score.

 

k. Contest bracket entries start as of 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, March 14, and end as follows:

• For the Men’s Tournament contest, entries close on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., Pacific Time, when the first game of the Men’s Tournament begins

• For the Women’s Tournament contest, entries close on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., Pacific Time, when the first game of the Women’s Tournament begins

which should be when the first Tournament game begins for each of the respective Tournaments.

 

l. Boundary County Live staff will contact the winners via phone and/or email promptly following the conclusion of the Men’s and Women’s National Championship games respectively when those games are completed. The winners must make available to Boundary County Live a photo ID to receive their prize.

 

8. VALUE:

a. The value of the grand prize is $50 (fifty dollars) for the Men’s contest and $50 (fifty dollars) for the Women’s contest.
