sales |
November 16, 2017 |
In order to accommodate members of the public
who may wish to purchase a Christmas tree permit
on the weekend, the Coeur d’Alene River Ranger
District’s Fernan Office will be open from 8
a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 2, and
Saturday, December 9.
The office is able to sell only Christmas tree
permits during the extended holiday hours.
Christmas tree tags are $5 each, and a family
may purchase up to five tags. The Idaho
Panhandle National Forests also offers a “permit
by mail” system. Visit
https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/ipnf/passes-permits,
print and complete the form, include a check or
money order, and mail.
Tree tags will be mailed out the next working
day after receipt of application.
Christmas tree permits allow for trees cut on
National Forest lands in northern Idaho and
Montana, and on Bureau of Land Management lands
administered by the Coeur d’Alene District
Office in North Idaho.
As you prepare to search for the perfect tree,
be prepared for cold weather and snow! Dress
warmly, carry extra food and hot drinks and
always let someone know your travel plans,
including destination and expected time of
arrival back home.
Enjoy the holiday season and your national
forest! |
