BFHS wins art award |

The Idaho Commission on the Arts announced today
its Fiscal Year 2018 annual grants and awards,
totaling $487,000 to 102 organizations and
schools spanning 29 communities throughout the
state, including Bonners Ferry High School and
Boundary County School District 101, awarded
$3,836.
Organizations and schools receiving grants will
match their awards with locally-generated funds.
Executive Director Michael Faison expressed
thanks to Idaho’s elected officials for their
continued support for the Commission’s statewide
programs, “Idaho thrives with arts
organizations, arts programs, arts educators,
and working artists in all disciplines. Thanks
to our elected representatives, the Idaho
Commission on the Arts provides grants
supporting arts participation and access to
Idaho’s unique cultural heritage and artistic
innovations, in every region in our state.”
In announcing the grants, Idaho Commission on
the Arts Chair Kay Hardy said, “The arts belong
to all of us. In a democratic society we
participate in activities that reflect our
cultural traditions and visions for a common
future, created by a diverse population. In
awarding these annual grants, the Commission
recognizes the excellence of individual artists,
community-based organizations and school
programs throughout Idaho. Such excellence is a
defining characteristic of a civilized society
in which we are all invited to participate.”
