Mike Boeck challenges Scott for Idaho House seat
May 5, 2017
Lifetime Bonner County resident Mike Boeck announced his candidacy for State Representative District 1 Position A on the Republican ticket today, challenging incumbent Heather Scott.

“I look forward to the opportunity to represent the people of District 1," Boeck said. "Born and raised in Bonner County and having worked my entire adult life in the forest products industry both in Bonner and Boundary Counties, I have come to know very well the issues that this district really cares about. I know that my experience and common sense approach to problem solving can bring a much needed partner to our current District 1 State Representative Position B, Sage Dixon and District 1 State Senator Shawn Keough."

Many challenges face our district, he said, as more folks move to our beautiful area, pointing out school funding, transportation infrastructure and protecting our water resources as specific challenges he will work to enhance and protect.

"I will go to Boise as a representative of all the people of District 1 and will work with our other legislators so together we can make District 1 a place we can all be proud of,” he said.

Boeck, a resource manager at Tri-Pro Professional Production Products, Oldtown, is fourth-generation Bonner County. He's been a long time member of the Bonner County Republican Central Committee and he has served as President of the Priest River Chamber of Commerce.

Mike can be reached at (208) 660-7451 or by email at mikeb@triproforest.com.

The primary election is May 15, 2018, and the general election is November 6, 2018. Boeck's campaign treasurer is Tim Cochran, who can be reached at (208) 255-6075 or tim.sandpoint@gmail.com.
