Twenty of Bonners Ferry’s most outstanding
junior girls are taking part in this year's
Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Women
Scholarship Program April 29 at the Becker
Auditorium, and here are five more of the young women now
preparing for “A Night at the Oscars.” We will introduce you to the final five participants next week. Our thanks goes out to Picturesque Photography by Sara for allowing us to share these wonderful photos. |

Kaylee Kramer – Participant #11 | |
After high school, Kaylee plans to attend Lewis and Clark State College, and pursue a career as a Neonatal Nurse or a Teacher. Kaylee finds historical figure Alexander Flemming interesting, as well as modern personality Pope Francis. Kaylee keeps busy by participating in Volleyball, Basketball, Golf, and National Honor Society. In her free time, Kaylee enjoys camping, boating and tubing, hiking, golfing, and hunting. For her talent, Kaylee will be performing a vocal solo of the song “Castle on a Cloud” from the musical Les Misérables. When asked what makes her most proud of her generation, Kaylee states, “We are willing to stand up for what we believe in, even if that means standing alone.” |

Kianna Higgins –

After graduation, Kianna plans to college to become an Interior Designer. Kianna is intrigued by modern personalities Ellen DeGeneres and Nick Vujicic, and finds historical figures Rosa Parks and Thomas Jefferson interesting. Extracurricular activities that Kianna enjoys include Dance Team and Volleyball. She also enjoys hiking, baking, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. For her talent, Kianna will be performing a contemporary dance. When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Kianna states, “We over use unnecessary technology. We spend too much time looking down at our phones rather than interacting with those around us.” |

Maya Roberts –

Maya would like to attend Idaho State University to obtain a Doctorate degree in Psychology with a minor in Business. Historical personalities that interest Maya are Jesus Christ and Maya Angelou, while modern personalities she finds interesting is Malala Yousafzai. A few of the activities that keep Maya busy include Dance, Honor Choir, and Community Theatre. For her talent, Maya will be performing a self-composed original monologue. When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Maya is concerned about laziness, apathy, and lack of initiative. |

Katie Onstott –

After graduation, Katie plans to attend North Idaho College to pursue a career in Law Enforcement. In her free time she enjoys include participating in Border Patrol Explorers Post #190, working at Starbucks, and babysitting. A modern personality that interests Katie is Joanna Gaines, while a historical figure that interests her is Martin Luther King Jr. Katie will be performing a self-composed monologue for the Talent portion of the program. When asked what makes Katie most proud of her generation, she states, “I am most proud of how many opportunities we get and whether we choose to take them or not is up to us.” |

Ada Bonnell –

After high school, Ada plans to attend college, but is undecided on her future career path. Ada finds historical figure Laura Ingalls Wilder intriguing, as well as modern personality Julianne Moore. Ada keeps busy by participating in Cross Country and Piano. In her free time, Ada enjoys running, skiing, snowboarding, traveling, playing piano and guitar, and spending time with family and friends. For her talent, Ada will be entertaining the crowd with a piano solo. When asked what makes her most proud of her generation, Ada states, “I am proud of how involved my generation is in school activities. It is nice to see so many people discover what they love to do, whether it’s sports, music, art, shop, or some other club or activity.” |
