Regarding recent rumors about Boundary Ambulance
Service |

By EMS Chief Jeff Lindsey
Boundary Ambulance Service (BAS) has recently
been made aware of an anonymously penned letter
circulating by email and on social media falsely
accusing BAS of taking sides in the debate
surrounding the amalgamation of fire districts
in Boundary County. The letter further alleges
that BAS has inappropriately managed the
deployment of our ambulance fleet.
BAS wishes to set the record straight.
BAS has no official opinion or policy for or
against the consolidation of fire districts, or
the implementation of fire taxing districts. BAS
has in no way attempted to influence or take
part in that political process, and we have no
intention of ever becoming involved in that
debate, which does not in any way concern us.
BAS is entirely neutral on this subject, and
does not stand to benefit or suffer from any
potential merger of fire districts.
Additionally, BAS categorically denies the
unfounded allegation of any inappropriate
management and/or deployment of our fleet. BAS
deployment exceeds the industry norms for a
rural community, and every deployment decision
is made with the highest regard for the
contribution of the taxpayers we are contracted
to serve.
BAS remains dedicated to providing excellent
medical care to Boundary County residents and
visitors. We regret that misinformed individuals
in the community have attempted to drag the
ambulance service into a debate about fire
districts and fire taxes, with which BAS has no
involvement or influence, and libeled our good
name with other speculative, baseless
accusations.
