Oh, will it ever be spring? |

The National Weather Service in Spokane has
issued a winter weather advisory for snow, in
effect from 4 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Friday. Bonners Ferry and Eastport are likely to be hardest hit, with two to five inches of valley snow falling by late this afternoon and through this evening while turning to freezing rain over Bonners Ferry and shifting to rain south over Sandpoint, with area-wide temperatures hovering right around the freezing point. Higher elevations could see up to 10 inches of snow. Extremely slick road conditions are anticipated throughout Bonner and Boundary Counties, and where precipitation falls as freezing rain, problems could arise from snapping power lines and tree branches, increasing the risk of power outages. Motorists are advised to get to their destinations early or wait until morning; those who have to drive this evening and overnight should exercise extreme caution and be aware of areas prone to black ice. |
