While in Super1 in Bonners Ferry recently,
Samantha West and her three kids walked around
looking for groceries.
"It was busy in there and I kept feeling like I
was in someone's way," Samantha wrote in a rave
she posted today on the Bonners Ferry Rant &
Rave page on Facebook. "My kids saved me a
couple times by smiling and saying hi to a few
different people. Although I felt like I was in
the way of their view of the cheese while my
daughter took what seemed like an eternity to
pick out a Lunchable for her field trip, my kids
were still smiling and happy and apparently made
someone's day."
Since they behaved in the store, Samantha told
them they could all go get an ice cream, and
while waiting, one of the ladies they had waved
at came over with her hand held out.
"I would like to pay for their ice creams," she
told Samantha happily. "They kept smiling and
waving at me, and this is just my way of paying
them back."
"Smiles truly are infectious," Samantha wrote.
"Children can make someone's day without even
meaning to because their smiles are sincere, and
in return she decided to make all of us smile.
We can learn a lot from our littlest members of
society, smile for no reason, show appreciation
for little things, and spread happiness instead
of negativity."
Samantha extends her thanks to that nice lady
for the ice creams, for the thought, and the
lesson on how much meaning there is in a simple,
heartfelt smile! |
