Deputy Penn released from hospital |
January 20, 2017 |
Bonner County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Penn, 30,
who was one of two deputies shot on Monday while
attempting to serve a warrant on Adam Foster in
Blanchard, was released from Kootenai Health
earlier today.
He left the hospital in a wheelchair, his left
arm in a sling, accompanied by members of his
family, including his wife and young son.
As he was wheeled into the lobby, a round of
applause echoed from peace officers, emergency
service providers and people all there to wish
him well.
On his ride back home to Bonner County, the
vehicle he was riding in was escorted by a
phalanx of patrol vehicles that stretched for
more than a mile and represented departments,
offices and agencies from throughout the region,
whose personnel dedicate themselves to
preserving the peace and protecting the public.
Fellow deputy, Michael Gagnon, 53, who was also
shot, remains hospitalized at Kootenai Health in
serious condition. |
