A group of Bonners Ferry officials and school
district personnel were joined Thursday by a
happy bunch of Valley View kindergarten students
to celebrate the completion of a a street
project designed, among other things, to make it
easier and safer for Valley View students to get
to and from school.
The Augusta Street project was funded primarily
with a $375,000 Community Choices Grant from the
Idaho Transportation Department.
One of the main goals of the project was to
increase pedestrian safety. The project includes
an upgraded highway pedestrian crossing, a
sidewalk from the highway to Valley View
Elementary School, a pedestrian crossing in
front of the Valley View School, improved
drainage, and an asphalt overlay of the street. |
