Forest gates to open |
October 17, 2016 |
As visitors take to the woods to hunt and/or
collect firewood, the Idaho Panhandle National
Forests remind them that forest gates in grizzly
bear management units will be opening soon.
Gates in the Selkirk Mountains will open
November 16, while gates in the Purcell and
Cabinet Mountains will open December 1. Opening
dates are dependent on weather conditions and
personnel availability.
Members of the public traveling on national
forest system lands are advised to obtain a free
copy of the latest Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM)
or call their local Forest Service office to
ensure their planned routes are open.
For questions or more information on scheduled
gate openings and recreation on the national
forest, please contact your local
Idaho Panhandle National Forests office. |
