Fire weather watch issued for Saturday |

Gusty winds and low relative humidity expected
Saturday have prompted the National Weather
Service to issue a fire weather watch in effect
for North Idaho and eastern Washington from
Saturday afternoon through evening.
A cold front is expected to pass through the
region, though conditions aren't expected to be
as bad as last Sunday, when several major fires
broke out in eastern Washington.
The new front coming Saturday is expected to
bring warm, breezy conditions, with sustained
winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour and gusts up to
30 mph, and relative humidities of 11 to 21
percent. Temperatures are expected to be in the
mid-80s around Bonners Ferry.
While no red flag warning has yet been issued,
outdoor burning is not advised while the watch
is in effect, and extra precautions with fire
should be taken by those camping or traveling in
the back country. |
