Weather Spotter training course a success; more coming in 2016 |
December 23, 2015 |
by Michael Meier Boundary County Public Information Officer Andy Brown from the Spokane office of the National Weather Service provided a Weather Spotter training course at South Boundary Fire Station in Naples on Tuesday of last week, December 15. The training was arranged by Boundary County Emergency Management Director Dave Kramer. Local residents are needed to become Weather Spotters and provide information to the National Weather Service. This training will most likely be offered again in late spring or early summer with more of a focus on summer storm patterns. The Spokane office of the National Weather Service has been a great partner providing information in advance of dangerous weather patterns, and working with us during events. If you would like to get involved, receive trainng, and help with providing important weather observations to the National Weather Service, watch for future upcoming training classes. |
