Online now from Idaho Driver's License
officials:
practice tests and a mobile app |
February 2, 2015 |
Building on the success of the driver’s license
practice-test mobile app, the Idaho
Transportation Department (ITD) is now offering
a free web-based knowledge practice test on its
official website.
The practice test consists of 60 multiple-choice
questions, and immediately indicates whether the
answer is correct or incorrect. The test
questions are similar to those on the actual
written-knowledge exam given at driver’s license
offices throughout the state. This test is also
a great way to brush up on Idaho’s rules of the
road.
The original practice-test mobile app was
launched in June 2014, and since then requests
have been pouring into ITD’s Driver Services
section for an exam that can also be accessed on
any laptop or personal computer.
Like the mobile-app version, this driver’s
license practice test is available in both
English and Spanish.
“This is a valuable tool, and I hope everyone
will take advantage of it,” said ITD Project
Coordinator Richard Holloran. “This will show
how much people know or don’t know about Idaho’s
laws pertaining to driving.”

Idaho partnered with the California Department
of Motor Vehicles to use software already
created to create the app, and Holloran entered
content to make it specific to Idaho.
“Preparing and posting this new learning tool
was a great team effort,” said ITD Driver
Services Manager Ed Pemble.
Also, a new online bicycle-safety quiz is
available on ITD’s website. The quiz provides
important laws and safety information not only
for bicycle riders, but drivers as well.
“This quiz provides great information on who has
the right-of-way at stop signs and stop lights,”
added Holloran.
Like the driver’s license practice test, the
50-question, multiple-choice bicycle-safety quiz
gives instant feedback once an answer is
selected.
The driver’s license practice test and
bicycle-safety quiz are both located on the ITD
Driver Services website at
www.itd.idaho.gov/dmv.
The Idaho Driver’s Manual also is available on
that same website, in both English and Spanish. |
