Experienced authors to give presentation |
October 11, 2014 |
Two writers will treat our community to readings
of their work at the Visitor Center in Bonners
Ferry on Friday, October 17, from 7:00 until
9:00 p.m. Professor Ronald McFarland of the
University of Idaho, and his wife Georgia
Tiffany will share segments from their prose and
poetry.
McFarland, who has written and published
fiction, poetry, and non-fiction, has been a
professor at the University of Idaho Department
Of English since 1970. His focus area is
contemporary poets, Northwest writers,
Hemingway, and creative writing. He has also
been an Idaho Writer in Residence. Several of
McFarland’s poems have been featured in issues
of Northern Journeys.
The reading will follow a day-long workshop with
the “Write Stuff," an informal group of local
writers who meet the first and third Friday at
the Extension office. The workshop and reading
is sponsored by the Idaho Arts Commission Tumble
Words program and the Boundary County Library.
The program is free and open to the public. For
more information, call Norm Bratz at
208-267-3221.
