Legion Post 55 offers scholarship |

Bonners Ferry American Legion Post 55 is pleased
to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Bonners Ferry
High School senior who is the child, grandchild
or great grandchild of a U.S. military veteran
who served during time of war or conflict.
The successful applicant will have a grade point
average of 3.0 or higher, a demonstrated
commitment to public service and be heading off
to further their education in an Idaho college
or university academic or technical program.
Applicants should write an essay of no more than
500 words sharing information about yourself,
your academic interests and accomplishments for
self, others and community. Describe your
feelings on patriotism, on service to country
and what being an American means to you.
You'll need letters of recommendation from your
high school counselor or principal, a business
person not in your family who knows you well and
a non-family member who can attest to your
upstanding character.

to your high school counselor by April 9 to
