Winter storm warning Tuesday to Thursday |
January 22, 2018 |
|
The National Weather Service has upgraded a
winter storm watch to a winter storm warning for
North Idaho and northeast Washington for heavy
snow from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Total valley snow accumulations of four to eight
inches are expected north of Sandpoint, with two to four
inches in the valleys south to Coeur d'Alene.
Mountain accumulations of nine to 15 inches, with
some areas receiving as much as 20 inches, are
expected.
In addition to difficult travel conditions and
reduced visibility, the snow is expected to be
wet and heavy, which is likely to bring down
branches, trees and power lines, causing power
outages.
Motorists who can are advised to stay home; if
you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food
and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. The latest road conditions for the
state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 511. |
