Weather advisory issued for western Montana |

The National Weather Service, Missoula, has
issued a winter weather advisory for freezing
rain, in effect from 5 p.m. today to 11 a.m.
Saturday, for the Kootenai/Cabinet and Lower
Clark Fork regions of Montana. Freezing rain is expected, and will continue this evening, increasing in intensity after midnight. A transition to snow is expected by mid morning Saturday. The ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected in the valleys. In the higher terrain, including over Lookout Pass, snow accumulations of one to three inches are expected. Routes liable to be hazardous include Highway 2 from Libby to Kalispell, Highway 37 from Eureka to Libby, Highway 56 Bull Lake Road, Highway 93 Eureka to Whitefish, Evaro Hill, Highway 200 Thompson Falls to Plains, Highway 200 Trout Creek to Heron, and I-90 Lookout Pass to Haugan.
