A 48-year-old inmate was found unresponsive in
his cell this morning, and despite their best
efforts, sheriff's personnel and EMTs were unable to
revive him. A Boundary County Sheriff Detention Deputy found inmate Brian Howarth unresponsive and not breathing in his jail cell at about 7:10 a.m. January 24, and immediately called for an ambulance and began life saving efforts, including CPR. Boundary County EMTs arrived a short time later and continued the effort to revive Howarth, who transported to Boundary Community Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation and cause of death has not been determined. The initial investigation has not indicated any foul play attributing to Howarth’s death. |
