Fry Foundation near buying new van

The all-volunteer organization Fry Healthcare Foundation is well on its way to purchasing a 15 passenger, wheelchair accessible van. Working through the Festival of Trees, its major fund-raiser, Fry Healthcare Foundation raised $41,000.

With his accurate human anatomy and twelve pulse points the nurses in training benefit with life-like simulation in arrhythmia training, defibrillation, and oral and nasal intubation, as well as, I.V. arm therapy and many other simulated training events.
One of the largest crowds ever came out for Gala Night and enjoyed a superb meal catered by Kootenai Inn. All the items in the silent and live auction during Gala Night were donated — including decorated trees, wreaths, stocking and baskets. Fry president Linda Hiatt has expressed her gratitude for the support from the community.
A Seattle Seahawks package with two tickets, select seating, and interaction with the players may have been the top prize of the evening. Of course, at the time of the auction, nobody knew for sure that the Seattle Seahawks would make it to the Super Bowl, although die-hard fans may claim otherwise!
Sponsors of the Festival of Trees were Panhandle State Bank, State Senator Shawn Keough, Yellowstone Insurance Exchange, Janice and Rick Lozoya, Rod Bender Car Club, Life Flight Network, Boundary Computers Solutions, Inc., Safeway, B.F. Redi-Mix, Inc., Frederickson's B.F. Garbage, LLC, Accurate Collision Services, Inc., Super 1 Foods, Oriental Gardens, Kootenai Health, the local Eagles Aerie, Alpine Vista Senior Apartments, Elk Mountain Farms, Idaho Forest Group, Figgins Farms, Inc., E-Enterprises, LLC, and Boundary Community Hospital Board of Trustees.
All in all, over 100 volunteers helped either before hand or at Family Night and the Gala. In addition, 126 businesses and organizations donated, either by giving items or by sponsorships.
Fry Healthcare Foundation will continue to raise funds toward the purchase of a van. It is much closer now after the wonderful response of the community during Festival of Trees.
