The first half of the school year is coming to
an end! Our focus during the 2014 school year
will remain the same: keeping VVES SAFE, CIVIL &

The Christmas program was a great show!
How can you beat the Christmas Season with
kindergarten, fourth, fifth grade students and
Mr. David Carpenter?
Our Student Council has set some great goals for
2014!
On our return to the New Year, we will hold a
canned food contest to support the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day “Fill the Bus Challenge."
This will run from January 6 through 16. The
class with the most items collected will earn an
ice cream treat!
Other community service project our Student
Council is planning to support are: collecting
items for the animal shelter; making and
delivering May Day cards and flowers to the
nursing home; making cards to support all local
law enforcement (Border Patrol, Local Police,
Sheriff, etc); financial help for the Rex
Theatre; community trash pickup and donating
money to the bleachers’ fund at VVES.

Over Vacation: READ, READ, READ & READ AGAIN!
Then WRITE about it! Write letters to family out
of town! Write poems! Play math games! Play
together, love each other, and stay positive!
Stay healthy, exercise and eat well! Success
begins in the home! Occasionally stop, hug your
child and take a quick look for head lice (they
never really go away)! Also, Have Fun!
On behalf of the staff of Valley View, I would
like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year! |
