There will be Christmas movies at the Rex

Yes, summer has come and gone and the biggest
question is, "oh, when is that theater going to
open?" The answer, when they ship us the
equipment.
We are on a very long list of theaters all
converting and with only a limited number of
studio certified technicians approved to install
the new equipment, we wait patiently until it is
our turn. Once our number comes up, they ship
the equipment, fly in the technicians and some
weeks later (fingers crossed, old wiring system
replaced with a new one that can support a
computer system without the threat of frying it
the first time the mill starts up) we are
showing movies again!
Just in the off chance that we would get pushed
in their scheduling line-up (and we did), we did
not tear down the old screen, so that we may
still have our Annual FREE Children's Holiday
Movie at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, December
6-7.
Once installed, the new system will allow the
Rex Theater to show 2D and 3D movies as well as
add hearing and visually impaired equipment,
which is required by federal law.
We have contacted the Bonners Ferry Museum and
proposed donating the antique equipment for
display.
