Winter storm watch upgraded |

A winter storm watch issued by the National
Weather Service this morning has been upgraded to a
winter storm warning at 3:54 p.m., meaning the
threat of heavy snow above 3,000 feet through
Monday is high, and could make travel extremely
hazardous or impossible. The warning is in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 4 p.m. Monday. According to the National Weather Service, snow will impact North Idaho and eastern Washington beginning late tonight through Monday, with the heaviest snow expected Sunday and Sunday night. A similar warning was issued for western Montana this morning, meaning passes both east and west of the Panhandle are likely to be treacherous. The amount of snow, both in the mountains and in the valleys were increased, with up to 18 inches expected at higher elevations and up to four inches on the valley floors. |
