Care-N-Share 2013 underway |
November 11, 2013 |
Linda Lederhos has long been the driving force
in marshaling the community's generosity to
ensure that no child in Boundary County goes
without at Christmas, and this year, her 31st,
the need is as great as ever. Contributions of cash and new or gently used clothes, toys and books will help ensure that every child has a present under the Christmas tree this year, no matter how dire their family's situation. Over the years, Linda has had some harrowing moments, worrying that the need in the community won't be fulfilled, but someway, somehow, the community's generosity has never failed to come through, but this year, she said, the need is likely to be the highest thus far. Cash donations can be mailed any time of the year to Care-N-Share, 515014 Highway 95, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805, or dropped off, along with donated Christmas presents, at the Bamboo Room Craft Store at the same address, located north of Three Mile. After Thanksgiving, gifts can be dropped off at any local bank or beneath the Christmas tree at the Boundary County Courthouse. Those in need can pick up applications at Panhandle Health, 7402 Caribou Street across from Boundary Community Hospital, or at the Bamboo Room. Applications are due by November 28. You don't have to be a parent or guardian to make application, either. If you know of a family going through tough times, you can make application on their behalf. It's the next best thing to being Santa Claus! To find out more, call Linda at (208) 290-1483. |
