July 27, 2013 |
Recent
concerns over federal government debt and the
intrusion into the private business of Americans
by the IRS, federal financial bureaus and other
federal agencies will be discussed by Idaho
Senator Mike Crapo in Bonners Ferry on August 6.
Crapo will keynote a public community luncheon
organized by Bonners Ferry business and civic
leaders. The 12:30 p.m. event will be held at
the Kootenai River Inn on U.S. 95 in Bonners
Ferry.
Crapo is the lead Republican on the Senate
Banking Committee and a senior member of the
Senate Finance Committee. He served on the
President’s Commission on Federal Responsibility
and Reform and on the informal Gang of Six
bipartisan group of Senators seeking to reduce
federal spending and the debt.
During visits around Idaho during the August
state work period, Crapo will note how invasion
of personal privacy issues continues to grow
under federal agencies, ranging from the IRS to
the National Security Agency, to the Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau. He is also
promoting tax reform ideas which could make the
U.S. tax code more fair for taxpayers and
investors alike.
Crapo will speak on the deck overlooking the
Kootenai River, guests will be able to enjoy a
barbecue lunch or just stop in and listen.
Cost of the luncheon is $10, no tickets
required. |
