Traffic to shift on Highway 95 near Athol

Traffic on a seven-mile section of U.S. 95,
between Chilco and Athol will shift to the
nearby frontage road paralleling the highway
beginning Monday, June 10, and continue through
July 1, the Idaho Transportation Department
announced.
The shift is necessary for work on the widening
and realigning of this portion of U.S. 95.
Traffic will be width-restricted to a 12-foot
lane in each direction, with the speed limit
reduced to 45 mph.
Scarsella Construction Inc., of Kent, Wash., is
the contractor on the $36 million project to
widen and realign U.S. 95 between Garwood and
Sagle. The project is being funded through
GARVEE (Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle)
bonds bonds, which allow ITD to advance critical
infrastructure improvements in vital corridors
throughout the state.
The project is expected to finish in late
August.
