This summer, Molly Rivkin, the daughter of
Linda Richardson and Mitch Rivkin, Bonners
Ferry, and a 2005 graduate of Bonners Ferry High
School, is going to be working at a
summer camp in the Ukraine called GLOW (Girls
Leading Our World), and she's asking the
community's help to make it possible.
For the past several months, Molly has been in
the Ukraine as a
Youth Development Volunteer with the Peace
Corps. She works in a village school, leading
after-school programs, teaching some English,
healthy lifestyle classes, and sports, and the
GLOW summer camp will help her continue her
work.
"We will teach an awesome group of Ukrainian
girls about leadership, HIV/AIDS, human
trafficking, and general empowerment fun," Molly
said. "We are in the process of raising money to
put the camp on and are looking for donations. I
don't really like asking people for money, but I
think this is a worthy cause. Would you be
willing to publish a short blurb on your news
site asking our community for small donations?"
Of course I would!
