Two school board races contested
|
March 29, 2013 |
Two of three school board trustee elections
going before voters on Tuesday, May 21, will be
contested, but an election for two seats on the
Boundary County Library Board will be cancelled
unless candidates file as write-ins.
The deadline for filing declarations as a
write-in candidate is Friday, and petitions are
available at the clerk's office at the Boundary
County Courthouse.
For school board, Zone 1 incumbent Gil Hagen is
being challenged by Liz Sloot and Mike Weland;
in Zone 5, incumbent Lisa Dirks is being
challenged by Nichele Whittaker and Kim
Peterson.
In Zone 2, incumbent Beverly Krichbaum, who was
appointed to the board February 2 to fill a
vacancy, is unchallenged so far.
For the library board, both Jim Marx, trustee
for Zone 4, and Judy Mace, Zone 5, are both
unchallenged on the ballot.
In addition to the above races, elections will
also be held November 5 for District 3 Commissioner
on the Paradise Valley Fire District board, for
District 1 Commissioner on the South Boundary
Fire Protection District, for two seats on the
Bonners Ferry City Council and for two council
seats and mayor in the City of Moyie Springs. |
