Better finish that GED ...
|
March 26, 2013 |
Everyone who has started taking the GED test is
encouraged to finish or they will have to start
over when the current version of the test
expires at the end of 2013. More than 1,400
North Idaho residents have started, but not
completed, the current version of the GED test.
Those who have taken the current version, the
Series 2002 GED test, but not passed all five
parts, have until December 18, 2013, to pass or
they will need to start over again with the new
GED test in order to receive their high school
credential. The current GED version will be
replaced January 2, 2014.
“The GED test opens doors to college, better
jobs, the respect adults deserve, and the
satisfaction of earning a high school
credential,” said Mary Edwards, GED test
coordinator for North Idaho College Adult Basic
Education. “We want to be sure that everyone is
aware of this deadline. GED test-takers must act
now to finish and pass before the current test
expires.”
In addition to the more than 1,400 North Idaho
residents have started, but not completed their
GED diploma, many adults have begun one of the
free GED preparation programs offered in Bonners
Ferry, Coeur d’Alene, Kellogg, Priest River,
Sandpoint and St. Maries.
“Support is available right here in North
Idaho,” said Rex Fairfield, director of NIC’s
Adult Education/GED program. “We can help adult
learners get prepared to take parts of the GED
test they still need in order to pass. We want
you to succeed.”
