Correction: Single youth facing hoax call charges |
March 26, 2013 |
Initial reports that there were two separate
suspects in the bomb threat incidents called in
to the sheriff's office last Monday and Tuesday,
along with reporting that one of the suspects
was from southern Idaho, were incorrect. In speaking both to Sheriff Greg Sprungl and Chief Deputy Rich Stevens, there is a single suspect who has admitted to placing both calls, and the location the calls were placed from has not been released. "All we stated is that the youth was not a student or affiliated in any way with Boundary County public schools," Stephens said. "We have a single juvenile suspect who admitted making both calls. Because he is a juvenile, there is little information we can release, but we did want to clear this up." The report on the investigation has been sent the the prosecutor's office and assigned to deputy prosecutor Tevis Hull, who is out of office until Thursday as he is handling a case this week in Bonner County. "Tevis and I both reviewed the file over the weekend, and charges will likely be filed later this week," prosecutor Jack Douglas said. "For right now, I am not releasing any additional information." On an unrelated note, a 15-year-old girl has been arrested and placed in juvenile detention in Spokane for a hand-written bomb hoax at Central Valley High School, which forced that school's evacuation Wednesday, March 20. According to investigators, the girl, whose name has not been released, admitted to to the hoax, saying she wasn't prepared for a class assignment that day. She is facing unspecified felony charges. |
