October 12, 2012 |
The Sandpoint
Police Department has responded to a few
businesses in Sandpoint reference to counterfeit
$100 bills. There are concerns that some of the
fake bills may make their way to Boundary County
businesses.
The suspect is washing a one dollar bill and
then photocopying a 100 dollar bill onto the
paper.
If you use a pen to mark the bill it will show
that the bill’s paper is valid. If you hold the
bill up to the light you will be able to see the
word “one” on the bill.
The suspect has been described as a white male,
age 17-22 and has blond hair.
The suspect has been wearing a black hoodie and
glasses. The suspect has been alone and buying
small items, only spending a couple dollars.
Please be cautious when taking in S100
bills.
