Vickie Blake
Thompson will once again conduct the
Bonners Ferry Community Choir's
Christmas concerts. |
All singers are invited to join in the 60-70
voice Bonners Ferry Community Choir which starts
rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. this evening at
Trinity Lutheran Church, 6784 Cody Street.
This non-auditioned community choir is free to
any who would like to participate; high school
age through senior citizens.
Middle students are welcome if their parent
sings in the choir as well.
The choir will rehearse at Trinity Lutheran each
Tuesdayy until its umpteenth annual Christmas
Concert series, which will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, December 21 and 3 p.m. Sunday, December
23.
The choir has presented Christmas concerts since
1978 and perhaps even earlier, no one seems to
remember the first one!
This year the theme for the concerts is
"Christmas Across America."
Conductor is Vicki Blake Thompson, who has
conducted the choir since 1997.
Accompanist is Barbara Nelson.
Each year CDs are made of each part, so even
those who don't read music well can join in the
singing. Often times, college students who come
home for Christmas will learn the music on their
own and join the choir for the final week of
rehearsals.
It is truly a community celebration and a long
standing tradition for Bonners Ferry.
For more info about the choir call Vicki at
