A Naples area family lost their home and
belongings to fire this morning, and friends and
family are rallying to give aid, and calling on
the community to help. Fortunately, that family was away at the time, and no one, including those who responded, were injured. South Boundary Fire was the first dispatched and first to arrive on scene, which was initially called out at 10:04 a.m., and not only was the home at 879 Green Pasture Road fully engulfed when they arrived and torching off surrounding trees; it belonged to two of their members. "When we arrived on scene it was thought that the occupants were in the home," South Boundary Fire Chief Tony Rohrwasser said. "All the family vehicles were there. We later found out the family had gone to Sandpoint with a friend. In addition to South Boundary, Boundary Volunteer Ambulance, Paradise Valley and the Idaho Department of Lands responded and assisted with the blaze. As yet, no cause has been determined and an investigation is underway. According to a family member, Roger Kramer Sr., his wife, Vicky and their grandson, Casey, who lived with them, lost nearly everything, and they are in need of clothing and household items. They are staying temporarily with another family member. Vicky wears women's pants and shirts size 2/3X; Casey, 15, a junior member of South Boundary Fire, wears junior boys size 16 slim, and Roger, a SBFD support person, wears men's size 30-32 pants and 3x shirts. They are also in need of typical household items as well; sheets, blankets, kitchen utensils, food and more. As always in such circumstances, South Boundary Fire has opened the doors of Station 1, 20 Stagecoach Road, Naples, as a collection point for a family in need. Monetary donations and care packages can be mailed c/o Roger Kramer Sr., P.O. Box 148, Naples, ID 83847. An account for the family has been established at Wells Fargo Bank and donations may be made at any branch. "Anything you can spare for the family will be quite a blessing," Vicky's cousin said. |
