All Class Reunion a year away
|
August 2, 2012 |
While work has been underway since students of
Boundary County's schools last swarmed into
Bonners Ferry in August, 2009, the word is just
now going out; the next Bonners Ferry All-Class
Reunion is set to descend again, with the main
events taking place Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Every five years, Boundary County and Bonners
Ferry roll out the red carpet to people from
around the world who ever stepped into a school
classroom in Bonners Ferry, and the event gets
better every time it's laid on, drawing young
and old alike with the fact that they attended
school here in common.
In 2009, nearly 1,000 descended for a variety of
events, from official class photos to a massive
dinner to a street dance and more. Alumni from
the early 1900s met students still in school,
friends connected and reminisced about the "good
old days," new acquaintances were made and old
friendships reforged.
While details are yet being worked out, this
year's organizers are encouraging everyone who
plans to attend to not only mark the date on
their calendars, but to get in touch with
friends and classmates to make sure they make
plans as well.
As planning solidifies and news becomes
available, newsbf will be publishing word of it,
along with lists of Bonners Ferry High School
alumnae whose addresses class organizers are
looking for.
You don't have to be a BFHS grad, though ... in
fact, you don't even have to have been a
student; teachers, principals, janitors, cooks
and bus drivers are welcome as well.
While no official point of contact has yet been
named, anyone seeking to learn more about the
2013 Boundary County All-Class Reunion can email
publisher@newsbf.com until further notice;
if publisher Mike Weland doesn't know the
answer, he'll know how to get it to the person
who does.
We'd also like to know if you're planning to
attend so we can share that news with others you
went to school with; if you're coming, please
email your name, the school (or school) you
attended and the years, we'll list the
information a special section of this site for
friends around the world.
Like everyone in Boundary County, we're looking
forward to seeing you one year from today, if
not sooner! |
