Friday dance classes coming to the Pearl

Laurie Buck, who has been an instructor and
artistic director for 30 years and currently
runs
Studio 1 Dance Academy in
Sandpoint, will begin offering a full array of
dances classes and workshops on Fridays at the
Pearl Theater, Bonners Ferry if there's enough
interest.
Each year Laurie's students perform at the
Festival at Sandpoint, and those taking the
Bonners Ferry summer workshops will be eligible
to audition for this year's Festival
performance, "Pinocchio."
Workshop dates are July 13, 20 and 26, and
Festival rehearsals will be held July 30 and
August 5.
Classes are available for children ages 4 - 6 in
the beginning combination class from 9:30 to
10:15 a.m., featuring tap, ballet, jazz,
tumbling and creative movement, ages 7-10, both
beginning and continuing students, have class
from 10:25 to 11:25 a.m., ages 11 -14 hold class
from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., intermediate and
advanced dancers with three or more years
experience, and who pass the audition, can join
the combination intermediate/advanced class from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., and a
jazz/cheerleading/tumbling team fitness and
routine class will run from 1:50 to 2:50 p.m.
For a class to be held, a minimum of six
students are needed. Class fees are $15 for a
single class, $40 for three classes, or $100 for
unlimited access. Anyone wishing to register for
these classes or who are interested in
additional classes, such as adult ballroom
dancing, or who want private lessons can feel
