Student Council April 12, 2012 MINUTES President: Sydney Watt Vice President: Quinn Plato Treasurer: Emily Blackmore Representatives: 4th Grade: Funkhouser Katie Clairmont Perez Grace Villelli Beck Thomas Mooney-Rivken 5th Grade: Dinning Sierra Summerfield Flory Ashlyn Rushing Johnson Max Lange Faculty Representatives in attendance: Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Barker Mr. Pflueger A financial report: currently $614.12 Discussion Items: • “Dress as a Famous Person from History or Character in a Book Day”. Students must have a basic knowledge of the person they will portray. This will be postponed until later in the year when ISAT’s are over. Posters will be made. • Signups are now available for the May 31st VVES 1st Annual Talent Show. Time and location to be announced. Talents can include: singing, dance, musical instruments, and special talents. All participants need to audition. Parent Permission is required. If we do not have enough participants, it will be cancelled. • The Student Council will help Mrs. Brown with the Jog-A-Thon. This will not be a fund raiser just a focus for HEALTH! The Theme might be:” RUN FOR YOUR LIFE”. It will be held May 16: K-1st at VVES in the AM 2nd-3rd in the AM and 4th-5th in PM; both at the Middle School. 1. The followings is a list of ideas from the Student Council: § Make posters for hallways: Safe, Civil & Productive with examples listed ie. Be Nice; Help Others; Don’t Steal, Tell the Truth; Listen to teachers; When others are hurt tell a teacher; Behave, etc § Have Hall Monitors § Have treats for the last day/snacks/picnic § Hold a Drawing at end of year § Put a bench in the dugouts § Buy more books/school supplies § Get new playground equipment § Activities for Field Day to include scavenger hunt § Water Balloon fight 4th/5th § Badger Sculpture § Customized VV desk name tags § Replace desks Please think about these ideas and the Student Council will talk about them at the next meeting Next Meeting will be held May 3rd, 2012 |
