Hall Mountain
volunteer firefighters responded
quickly, but the home owned by Terri
Duncan and Dennis Fitch was already lost
by the time fire crews were dispatched
to the scene. |
A fast-moving fire destroyed a home owned by
Terri Duncan and Dennis Fitch this evening at
403 Bussard Lake Road.
The call came to sheriffs dispatchers at 7:51
p.m. when an employee at Feist Creek Resort,
alerted by someone from the home seeking to use
the telephone, called 911. Even as the call was
being made, the fire had severely damaged the
home, set off a propane tank, and spread to
surrounding woods.
Firefighters from Hall Mountain Volunteer Fire
Department responded quickly to the scene and
were able to get control of the blaze, but not
before most of the home was leveled. Boundary
County Sheriffs deputies, Idaho State Police
Corporal Dusty Kralik and Boundary Volunteer
Ambulance EMTs also responded to the scene.
There was initially concern that one person may
have been in the home, but that man turned up
safely, having gone to fight brush fires, and
everyone was accounted for and no one was hurt.
"That's the most important thing," Dennis said.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined,
and investigation is continuing as fire crews
remain on scene to extinguish any hot spots. |
