Labor director to meet business leaders

July 19, 2011
Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger Madsen, shown here with Governor Butch Otter, visits students in Pierce.
Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger Madsen will launch a second round of meetings with business owners, legislators, local officials and community leaders from around the state to hear what's on their minds, answer questions and get suggestions on how the agency can improve its services.

He'll also discuss the new Hire One tax credit that rewards employers who increase their payrolls to help the economy recover.

On September 28, he'll make his final stop at the Bonners Ferry Visitor's Center from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

"It's been clear from the sessions over the past four weeks that Idaho business are interested in making the most of the services we can offer than at the Department of Labor and our 25 local offices," he said. "It just makes sense to talk with those on the front lines of this economy about what we can do to help them be profitable and provide jobs for the tens of thousands of workers hit hardest by the recession."

Leading up to his Bonners Ferry visit, Madsen will make stops in Meridian, Rupert, Soda Springs, St. Maries, Orofino, Blackfoot, McCall and Mountain Home.

To reserve a spot during his visit here, call (208) 457-8789, extension 3992, or email ricia.lasso@labor.idaho.gov.
