Idaho soldier marks second anniversary as

Idaho’s Congressional Delegation released the
following statement acknowledging the second
anniversary of the capture of Sgt. Bowe R.
Bergdahl, Hailey, Idaho, on June 30, 2009, in
Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring
Freedom.
“We want Idahoans and the nation to remember
that Sgt. Bergdahl continues to be held by
Islamic extremists. His safe return to the
United States and his family in Hailey continues
to be a top priority for the U.S. Military and
Intelligence community. Our thoughts and prayers
continue to be with Bowe and his family during
this difficult time.”
On June 16, Bergdahl was promoted to sergeant
and his parents were presented with his
promotion certificate.
Bergdahl, 25, is assigned to the 1st Battalion,
501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade
Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort
Richardson, Alaska. |
