While race results and times aren't yet available, Jacob Callister, who'll be a senior at Bonners Ferry High School next year, won the 5K event, and 2011 BFHS graduate Micah Krmpotich strolled in to win the 10K event with room to spare. Run founder and organizer Jim Cadnum did another amazing job this year, rallying volunteers from throughout the community (who in the interest of the race gave up the opportunity to run!) to keep everything running smooth. There were even Friends of the Arts at the finish line; Catherine DelSalle and Shannon Earle did a fine job logging the times and names! Bonners Ferry Junior Miss runner up, the former Irina Wormgoor, radiant with child, was on the sidelines getting pictures of all academy finishers. What was amazing this year is how far some people came to compete; in addition to the usual 9B, 7B, Kootenai County and British Columbia plates in the parking lot, this year's event saw plates in the parking lot from as far away as Illinois and Arizona. One of the Washington plates turned out to be from clear on the coast, and brought with it a runner from Long Beach, California, a runner with a unique story to tell (read it here). In the final tally, there were 260 registrants and 255 of those finished their run. In the men's 5K, 82 finished, in the women's, there were 100 finishers. In the men's 10K, 39 finished, 34 women finished that run.
