Lyme disease everywhere

In 2003, I went to Dr. McCreight with what I
thought was a spider bite. He said he’d worry it
was Lyme Disease but we don’t have it here. I
told him I just returned from Pennsylvania, to
which he said I had Lyme Disease.
I was one of the lucky ones to have a bulls-eye
rash and a positive test. And even more
fortunate to have had Dr. McCreight, who
recognized the symptoms.
Since then, I learned a lot about Lyme Disease
and the chronic problem it is in our country.
There are countless people with Lyme Disease who
never have a rash or other symptoms or may not
have a positive test. Lyme Disease can remain
dormant in a person’s body and one day surface
as a secondary infection affecting the nervous
system, brain, etc. ... mimicking other chronic
illnesses.
Lyme testing should be routine every time there
is a blood test given. It is everywhere – not
just on the east coast. Left untreated or not
properly treated will result in a lifetime of
illness. |
