Tremain too nice |
June 12, 2012 |
I am so disappointed about Tremain's tree house
situation! At the city council meeting, Tremain requested that the mayor request a variance, which could only be requested by the mayor and would not affect funding; they were meeting Friday morning to discuss it further. Based on the article, I am guessing that either Tremain withdrew his request or Mayor Anderson opted not to ask for a variance. While the outcome probably would have been the same (dealing with the Army Corp of Engineers is sort of like drawing pictures for blind people) it makes me sad and sick to see every day citizens treated with a different set of rules than groups with money or people with political pull. I'm with Tia Avery and would happily peacefully protest cutting down the tree. But to be honest, I would be making a lot more noise then Tremain has made, he has been far too nice about the matter. I give him credit for being a gentleman about it though. |
