Attention Bonners Ferry!
Are you aware that we (the school district) just
selected a teacher from Sandpoint to coach our
high school football team?
Not only did we select a coach from out of town
... we turned down four very qualified
applicants from Bonners Ferry.
I find myself questioning what the reasons were
when it is such a no brainer for me.
If we want to continue growing our programs and
encouraging a sense of community, why would we
allow our school board to make a decision that
is so anti community?
One of the applicants was Coach Corey Richards.
He's put in hours upon hours of time with our
kids growing our fifth and sixth grade teams to
massive numbers.
He is respected as a coach, has lived in the
area for years, and is planning to stay here. He
has been awarded outstanding parent and
community member awards ... not to mention he
bleeds blue and white!
If you have and issue with what is happening,
please take your time to place a call the
district office, send a fax, email, whatever you
can do. It will be a shame if we don't take
action and just let this decision stand. |
