Hawaiian luau at the Wild Horse |
August 22, 2012 |
Ray
and Beth Holmes are inviting everyone to the
Wild Horse Mercantile & Saloon on U.S. 95 south
of Good Grief for an all-afternoon Hawaiian luau
this Saturday. If you haven't been to the Wild Horse since they opened last summer, be prepared to be amazed as they've expanded the business considerably, adding on a bar/dining room and a full kitchen. Not only do they offer gas and sundry items you'll find in most convenience stores, they now serve a fine selection of beer and wine and meals up to and including prime rib. All that makes the Wild Horse Mercantile & Saloon a great place to not only visit, but to stay awhile and relax, and what better way to prove it than a real luau? At 3 p.m. Saturday, August 25, they'll be pulling the pig and serving it up with corn on the cob, assorted fruit, an authentic Hawaiian rice dish, potato or macaroni salad and the one thing no luau can be without, traditional poi! They'll be holding a bunch of games and contests, including a contest for the best Hawaiian outfit and, ahem, best lei. There'll be a pineapple hide and go seek, limbo contests and hula hoop contests. To add to the fun, they'll be serving up $1 draft beers, too. There's free camping, so no reason you can't stay and have a great time. The Wild Horse Mercantile & Saloon is located at 529503 Highway 95, which is right near milepost 530. You can check out their Facebook page to find out more about the Luau and to keep up on everything else they have going on, or you can call (208) 267-0688 to find out more. |
