The Badger girls pulled off a win in the house
of the Bulldogs Saturday, keeping their winning
streak so far this season alive at five with a
final score of 65-52. The Badgers led in each quarter until the fourth, when the Bulldogs outshot the Badgers by seven, but it was too little, too late. Hot-handed Badger senior Kadi Bateman led all scorers with 23 points, Kassy Skeen put up 14, Holly Ansley shot 13 and Miranda Wenk scored 12. Ciera Bailey led the Sandpoint scoring effort with 19 points, and Grace Kirscher hit 16.
The Badger boys put up a tough fight, but couldn't over come a second quarter deficit and suffered their first loss of the season to the Bulldogs, 75-66. The Badgers ended the first quarter up by two, 13-11, but the Bulldogs poured it on, out shooting the Badgers by 13 points to end the half with a 35-24 lead. The Badgers led on second half scoring by a bucket, 42-40, but they needed 11. Dylan Hittle led the Badger scoring drive, putting up 17 points, followed by Chris Sabin with 16 and Seth Bateman with 15. Bulldog Alex Stockton led all scorers with 18 points. The Badger boys, 4-1 on the season, host the Lakeland Hawks in their first league match at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 12. The JV squad kicks off the action at 5:30 p.m. The 5-0 Badger girls travel to St. Maries Thursday at 7 p.m., JV at 5:30 p.m., then return home at 7 p.m. Friday for another non-league match against Wallace. The JV squad leads off against the Miners at 5:30 p.m. |
