November 5, 2017
Badger swimmer Julia Cummings traveled to Boise Thursday for the 2017 Idaho High School Swimming State Championships, and brought home Bonners Ferry High School's first and so far only Idaho state swimming title.

Julia, a sophomore, won the individual 1A-3A title in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.49.

Kimberly High School won the combined team girls title with 120 points, sweeping the relays, and took the boys title as well with 136 points.

Julia began competing in swimming when she was about eight years old, swimming for Carolina Aquatics in Columbia, South Carolina for several years before moving to Bonners Ferry two years ago.

She competes year-round for the club team with the Sandpoint West Athletic Club under Mike Brosnahan.
