He was the last baby to be born at the old hospital in Bonners Ferry and the first baby to be carried across the street to the new hospital. He spent his childhood days playing with his siblings, Eric and Lynn, and countless neighborhood children, many of whom became lifelong friends and extended family. He attended Bonners Ferry High School, was an active student and graduated in 1973. He then attended the U of I to study architecture and design and was in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Mark joined the group Up With People in 1974, a traveling performance group aiming to inspire young people to change their world while breaking down cultural barriers. He and his dear friend Andre traveled all of Europe performing with the group. Mark met his partner, Ron Moffat, and they spent the next 25 years together making beautiful memories. They made their homes in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Finally Mark settled in Bonners Ferry to be close to family. Mark and Ron traveled the world, collected and made beautiful art and spent much of their time with their loved ones. The list of his accomplishments and experiences are vast.
