Dianna was born in Bonners Ferry to Barbara and Irvin Dinning on December 29, 1959. She went to school at Bonners Ferry. After moving to Libby, she met and married Tim Rooney on May 15, 1982, at her parents’ home in Bonners Ferry. In Libby, she worked as the bookkeeper for Tungsten Holdings for 20 years. She also worked for First American Title Company until retiring in 2008 to become a stay at home Grandma to her one and only grandson, Hunter. Dianna loved her time she had being able to take care of Hunter. She was blessed with the birth of two children, her son Kelly, in 1984, and her daughter Brenna, who was born in 1986. She became involved in the Libby Youth Baseball and Softball organizations from 1992 to 2002, when her children were old enough to play. She had a significant impact on the construction of the baseball and softball complex located near the Libby cemetery. She was the President of the Little League baseball program during the last baseball games held at the Kelly Walliston fields located at what is now Riverfront Park complex. She was instrumental in bringing State baseball and softball tournaments to Libby during her time in the programs. She was referred to as “Mama Rooney” by her kids group of friends. And still to this day that name has stuck with her. She really enjoyed camping and fishing, but, her very favorite day was opening day of grouse hunting season. She is famous for getting grouse the hard way -- with a rock! Grouse season also meant picking Shaggy Mane mushrooms. She never cooked them, but she loved picking them. Of course, when huckleberries were ripe, it was time to hit the mountains again. She loved picking huckleberries, but her bucket never seemed to fill up as fast as it could have. Dianna is preceded in death by her father, Irvin, and multiple aunts and uncles. Dianna is survived by Tim Rooney, her husband of 35 years, son Kelly and his wife Jill (Wood) and grandson Hunter, daughter Brenna, brothers Dan Dinning and his wife Mary and Rick Dinning and his wife Chris, all of Bonners Ferry, and brother Jay Dinning and his wife Lori of Libby, her mother Barbara Dinning of Libby and numerous nieces and nephews.
