He was born September 23, 1956, in Bonners Ferry to Martin and Rita Raan.
Larry spent most of his life in Troy and Libby other than brief stints in eastern Montana, Colorado and Alaska. He worked as a logger, miner and a mill worker for many years but stopped to care for his parents as their health failed. They were able to stay home until their passing because of Larry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in-laws Roy McMillan, Frank Shockly and Richard Allenberg.
Survivors include his siblings Barbara McMillan, Troy, Mary Shockly, Spokane, Randy Raan and Rose Lockman, both of Troy, James Raan, Kalispell, Montana, Dean Raan, Mesa, Arizona, Don Raan, Petaluma, California, and many nieces and nephews.
