Jerold Steven "Jerry" DePue, 75, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2017, at his home near Bonners Ferry. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 10, at the Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry. Viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 6.

Jerry was born on June 4, 1942, in Charlotte, Michigan, to Donald J. and Mary L. DePue. He graduated high school in Augusta, Montana. He worked with his dad brush piling and logging in the Swan Valley area. He drove truck doing long haul, logging and lumber truck driving.

Throughout most of his career he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Later in life he owned and operated DePue Backhoe and Dozer work. He also did horse logging for five to six years as well as odd jobs in post and poles, sawmill work and log house mills.

Over the years he went in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area several times. He also fished for Macs and rainbows on Lake Ponderay and had a big boat for a few years.

He married Marie Koster on February 21, 1981, in Newport, Washington.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, of Bonners Ferry, children Steve, Cheryle, Terry, Bill, Kelli and John David (JD) DePue, brother Mike DePue, sisters Jean Paske, Joanne DePue and Toni DePue and families, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Judith.
